verkostet Januar 2022:

"Having retreated into its shell, the deep garnet colored 2009 Léoville Poyferré gives up slowly revealing notions of cigar boxes, pencil lead, charcoal, rose hip tea and fragrant earth with a core of preserved plums, crème de cassis, espresso and Indian spices. Full, rich, seductive and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, the palate features firm yet beautifully velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and spicy. Published: Mar 14, 2019"

"2009 Vintage Tasted: Jul 2022
"Espresso, licorice, smoke, black and red currants, blackberries, and roses create the nose. On the palate, the wine is powerful, lush, full-bodied, rich, deep, and long. The fruits are sweet, ripe, opulent, flamboyant, and attention-seeking. They are also pure, fresh, clean, and intense. There are no hard edges at any step. The lingering finish al close to seamless. It is almost impossible to put your glass down without taking another sip. This is stunning. But as good as it is now, it is only going to get better over the next few decades. Drink from 2027-2050."
97-98/100 VertdeVin:
"2009 Vintage Tasted: Nov 2021
The nose offers power, deepness, concentration as well as a nice intensity of the grain. It reveals notes of boysenberry, strawberry and more slightly zan associated with touches of star anise, nutmeg, Madagascar pepper as well as hints of blueberry / flowers and a subtle hint of anise. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, smoothness, good definition, some intensity, concentration as well as a finely tight tannic structure. This wine expresses notes of juicy / pulpy blackberry, tangy cassis and more slightly raspberry associated with touches of cherry, blueberry, lily, camphor, racy minerality and hints of coffee. Tannins are precise. Presence of a subtle hint almost thyme on the finish / persistence."

Weinwisser 19/20 Punkte:

The spectacular 2003 Leoville Poyferre exhibits a dense purple color with a touch of lightening at the edge as well as notes of creosote, barbecue smoke, jammy black currants, licorice and spice box. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin. Still fresh and exuberant, it is just entering its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for 10-15+ years.
